Plaintiff brought an action for false arrest and assault and battery as a result of an incident which took place in the parking lot of defendants Jantzen Beach store. She sought both general and punitive damages on each cause of action. Defendant appeals from the judgment entered on a verdict for plaintiff and makes two assignments of error. The first is that the court erred in denying defendants motion in limine to exclude reference to, use or discussion of defendants security manual, which contains its rules and instructions for dealing with shoplifters. Secondly, defendant contends that the court erred in not entering judgment for defendant on the original jury verdict and that there was jury misconduct.
